ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) - A murder case in Allegan County has broken down for lack of evidence.
Circuit Court Judge Kevin Cronin dismissed proceedings against Marion Conley yesterday after prosecutors said that testimony and evidence that bounded the 79-year-old Otsego man for trial this past May was not credible or was proven to be unreliable. Conley allegedly shot tenant Jody Snyder at a rental home that Conley had owned between Allegan and Hamilton on March 9th as part of an apparent eviction dispute. The accused had been in the Allegan County Jail since his arrest days after the incident until yesterday’s dismissal.
It was not immediately known if Sheriff’s detectives will resume their investigation of Snyder’s death.
