UNDATED (WHTC) - On this Veteran’s Day, there will be a number of activities planned to honor those who had served this country along the Lakeshore.
Highlighting the events is the 76th annual Holland High School observance in the Dutch Dome. The school’s Wind Ensemble and choir will perform, along with the reading of the roll call of those who have died while in service, and retired Army First Sergeant Patrick Muir is the featured speaker. The program is open to the public, and coverage on 1450 WHTC begins at 9:45 AM. Other events scheduled include an 8:45 AM assembly at Holland Christian High School’s Auditorium and an 11 AM parade in Saugatuck, followed by a luncheon for vets at Douglas Elementary School. The Holland Area Veterans Council holds a special program in Evergreen Commons at 7 PM.
As for what’s open and not open: Public schools will hold classes; many governmental offices will be closed, although the court system will be operational; banks and post offices are closed, but the major stock markets will be open.
