KENT COUNTY, MI (WHTC) -- An 18-year-old man was sentenced in Kent County Circuit Court Tuesday for his part in destroying property at Wyoming High School. Cullen Shae Johnston went before Judge Paul Sullivan to learn his sentence. He was sentenced to one year in the Kent County Jail on charges of breaking and entering and malicious destruction of property in the July 20th break-in. Johnston also received a scolding from the judge, to the effect, that when someone breaks in a place to steal something, they are usually motivated by need. Damage totals added up to more than nine-thousand dollars. Besides his sentence, Johnston was also ordered to pay restitution.
