GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) - The Kent County Medical Examiner’s has determined that two 17-year-old Holland men killed in a car crash early on Tuesday morning had consumed alcohol. Julien Tirado and Kevin Boonheaun had blood alcohol content twice the legal limit when Tirado’s car on westbound I-196 lost control, hit the guardrail and spun facing traffic. A pickup driver then ran into Tirado’s vehicle, whose lights had been knocked out by the initial collision. Police officers also say that Tirado never had a valid driver’s license. A mass for Tirado is this afternoon at 2 PM in St Francis de Sales Catholic Church; Boonheun’s funeral is tomorrow afternoon at Lakeshore Memorial Services.
