DETROIT (WKZO) -- Detroit's Big Three automakers plan to reduce their annual two-week July shutdowns at dozens of North American plants.  Officials with all three companies say they have their North American plants running at or above capacity.

According to Autodata Corp, auto sales are up 6.9-percent through April and could hit 15.5-million dollars this year.  That would be the highest annual total since 2007.

Chrysler and GM officials say there will be no summer shutdown this year and Ford plans to shut down some facilities for a week instead of the customary two weeks.
