LANSING (WKZO) -- Even if Republican Congressman Mike Rogers declines to run for the Senate and seeks reelection, Democrats think they can take his 8th Congressional District seat.

Michigan Democratic Party Chairman Lon Johnson tells Lansing's "City Pulse" newspaper they plan on mounting a competitive race in the district, which now includes Ingham, Livingston and northern Oakland counties.  Johnson points to President Obama winning Michigan last year, despite never setting foot in the state to campaign and it being the native state of Republican challenger Mitt Romney, as evidence they can win in the 1st, 7th, 8th and 11th Congressional Districts.
