UNDATED (WKZO) -- If you spent anytime outside this weekend, enjoying the nice weather, then you probably spent a lot of time swatting mosquitoes too.
The abnormally wet April gave the little blood suckers plenty of places to breed, according to Grand Valley Biology Professor James Dunn.
There are a number of Mosquito species in Michigan that breed at different times during the warm weather. This is not the breed that transmits EEE and West Nile. That breed hatches late in the summer season.
