DETROIT (WKZO) -- Federal investigators have busted a Detroit business for paying workers with crack.
According to authorities, the investigation started as a counterfeiting case at Big C Tire Shop on Detroit's east side. Federal documents show that the shop recruited drug users as employees, paying them with crack-cocaine.
The owner of the shop has been charged with cashing over 100-thousand dollars in counterfeit Post Office paychecks and federal investigators say he won't be charged with the drug charges. The federal counterfeiting charges carry a stiffer penalty.
