UNDATED (WHTC) -- The heavy rains of April caused a lot of problems along the Lakeshore. A state of disaster has been declared for many counties in western Michigan, including Ottawa, and local, state and federal emergency management officials are assessing the damages. But…there are some good results from all that rain. Keith Kompoltowicz of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the water level in Lake Michigan rose almost one foot during the month of April. Lake Michigan hit a record low in January of this year and is in its 14th year of below average levels.
