Tigers Washed Out in Washington; Cubs & Hawks Score Tuesday Wins


UNDATED (WHTC) - Due to inclement weather, last night's scheduled Detroit Tigers versus Washington Nationals game in the Nation's Capital has been postponed. It will be made up on tomorrow afternoon and will air on 1450 WHTC at 3:40 PM. The two teams will meet at Nationals Park this evening, with coverage on Holland's Hometown Station beginning at 6:40 PM.

Nate Schierholtz' two-run homer in the fourth inning was enough for the Cubs to edge visiting St. Louis last night, 2-1. The series at Wrigley Field in Chicago concludes this afternoon.

Mike Baxter's pinch-hit single in the bottom of the tenth inning enabled the New York Mets to slip past the visiting White Sox last night, 1-0. The series at Citi Field concludes this evening.


The West Michigan Whitecaps open up a three-game series in Bowling Green against the Hot Rods this evening.


Patrick Sharp scored twice to lead the Blackhawks to NHL Stanley Cup playoff victory at Minnesota last night, 3-0. Chicago leads the best-of-seven Western Conference Quarterfinal series, three games to two, and hosts game five at the United Center tomorrow evening.

The Detroit Red Wings are in Anaheim to face the Ducks in NHL Stanley Cup playoff hockey action this evening. That Western Conference Quarterfinal series is tied at two games apiece.


The Chicago Bulls meet the Heat in Miami this evening, leading the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinal series, one game to none.
