Avila Bails Out Tigers, Hawks Win Again, Griffins Stymied on Friday Night


UNDATED (WHTC) - Alex Avila's two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning enabled the Tigers to win at Houston last night, 4-3. The series at Minute Maid Park continues this evening. Coverage on 1450 WHTC begins at 6:45 PM.

Zack Cozart's single in the eighth inning drove in what proved to be the decisive run, as visiting Cincinnati held off the Cubs yesterday, 6-5. The series at Wrigley Field in Chicago continues this afternoon.
