HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Holland’s signature event kicks off its eight-day run tomorrow, as thousands will flock for the Tulip Time Festival. City Manager Ryan Cotton says that things are falling into place, with bleachers already installed for next week's parades, along with clean streets and other maintenance being done. Local horticulturalists say that around 50 percent color for the featured flower is expected through next Saturday, with several hundred thousand bulbs planted on municipal property and right-of-way. In addition, the 48th annual Fiesta, spotlighting the Lakeshore’s Hispanic heritage and culture, begins a day and a half of activities on the Civic Center grounds this evening.
Tulip Time Executive Director Gwen Auwerda talked about this upcoming festival in this video with WHTC News Director Gary Stevens.
