UNDATED (WHTC) - Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder each slugged a two-run homer, while Justin Verlander scattered five hits with eight strikeouts over seven innings, as the Tigers beat visiting Minnesota last night, 6-1, for their fifth straight victory. Detroit goes for the series sweep of the Twins this afternoon. Coverage from Comerica Park on 1450 WHTC begins at 12:40 PM.

Carlos Quentin homered and drove in three runs, powering visiting San Diego to a 13-7 victory over the Cubs last night. The series at Wrigley Field in Chicago continues this evening.

Adrian Beltre’s two-run homer capped a decisive six-run sixth inning for Texas, who went on to defeat the visiting White Sox last night, 10-6. The series at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington continues this evening.
