HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) - A crash on southbound US-31 near Greeley Street resulted in a fatality late on Wednesday morning. The accident happened around 11 AM and involved a single vehicle, driven by a 79-year-old man from Spring Lake Township. Seargent Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said that the victim was pinned inside the vehicle. The Holland Township Fire Rescue was on scene to extricate the man. He was transported to Holland Hospital but died shortly after arrival. The man’s identity is being withheld until his family has been notified. The investigation is looking into a medical condition that the driver may have had. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
