SAUGATUCK TWP. (WHTC) - A three-member appeals panel wants some extra time to review the latest effort to overturn the Singapore Dunes project in Saugatuck Township. The township’s zoning board of appeals Thursday night said it wanted one week to decide whether the Saugatuck Dunes Coastal Alliance and two residents have standing – which is the ability to demonstrate sufficient connection to and harm from – against the proposed development north of the Kalamazoo River. The alliance and the two residents say the township Planning Commission ignored the zoning ordinance when it approved preliminary development plans for Singapore Dunes last December. A decision is expected next Thursday.
