UNDATED (WHTC) - Michigan State and Michigan received their NCAA basketball tournament marching orders last night, with both teams opening up at the Palace on Thursday. The Spartans face Valparaiso in an afternoon matinee, while the Wolverines battle South Dakota State in an evening contest.
Three other state teams are also in post-season play, with Oakland visiting Youngstown State in the College Insider Tournament tomorrow night, and on Wednesday evening, Western Michigan hosts North Dakota State in the College Basketball Invitational, while Detroit travels to Arizona State in the National Invitation Tournament.
Exhibition baseball yesterday saw the Tigers whipped by Washington, 12-10; the Cubs doubled over by Oakland, 12-6; and the White Sox whitewashed by Kansas City, 10-0. Today, the Tigers’ game with Washington is on 1450 WHTC at 1 PM; the Cubs face San Diego; and the White Sox are off from competition.

NBA action tonight finds the Detroit Pistons hosting Brooklyn and the Chicago Bulls entertaining Denver.
Taylor Chorney’s goal a half-minute into overtime lifted Peoria past the visiting Griffins yesterday, 3-2. The two teams have a rematch at Carver Arena in Illinois tomorrow evening.
