COLUMBIA TWP., MI (WHTC) - A 38-year-old Grand Junction man died yesterday morning in a single-vehicle crash off of the Allegan County line. According to authorities, Timothy Thurston was driving his car westbound on Baseline Road around 7 AM, approaching 55th Street, when he apparently lost control and slammed into a large tree nearly head-on. Rescue crews extricated his body from the vehicle, but Thurston was pronounced dead at the scene by the Van Buren County Medical Examiner's Office. Deputies say that he wasn't buckled up, but that airbags in the car did deploy upon impact. The incident remains under investigation.
