DETROIT (WKZO) -- Detroit City Council has decided not to file a lawsuit to block the appointment of an emergency financial manager by the state of Michigan.
Members met in private with law department attorneys yesterday just before Governor Rick Snyder introduced Kevyn Orr as his Emergency Manager choice. Council President Charles Pugh says a majority decided to give up the fight, but it wasn't unanimous.
The National Action Network organized a protest of about fifty people outside the state's Cadillac Place offices Thursday and some members promised more slow driving on area interstates as part of civil disobedience.
