HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - For the third straight year, Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley spoke before Lakeshore business leaders, as he addressed this morning’s Michigan West Coast Chamber Early Bird Breakfast at the Haworth Inn. The Portland Republican pitched the Snyder Administration’s road funding renovation and Affordable Care Act initiatives, along with his goals for reforming Michigan’s mental health care structure in a half hour of remarks.
Mr. Calley also repeated the same reason that the Governor stated 11 days earlier as to why an emergency manager is needed for the city of Detroit. Municipal officials make their case for preventing such an appointment today before a deputy state treasurer, and Mr. Snyder will decide on whether to follow through on an EM for Detroit following the hearing in Lansing. Mr. Calley cited the Lakeshore and West Michigan as examples for Detroit and other distressed areas of the state to follow in his remarks to the Chamber.
