HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Customers of the Holland BPW may be in line for higher bills in the near future as the utility’s board is expected today to recommend increases in electrical, water and sewer rates for the upcoming fiscal year. Officials cite increases in operating expenses and infrastructure maintenance in asking for what they say will be a total monthly hike of nearly seven dollars for the average residential customer, although they are quick to add that the daily cost of all three services of $3.89 “remains an excellent value.” City Council must also agree with the board’s recommendation on May 15^th before the new rates take effect on July 1^st.
