ALLENDALE (WHTC) - A new program at Grand Valley State University will give military police veterans a chance to work their way into civilian law enforcement. The Michgian Commission on Law Enforcement Standards has picked the Allendale school as the first site in the state for the Military Police Basic Training Program. The former M-Ps would be trained in all areas that traditional law enforcement officers are, except in a shorter time frame – six weeks. The first session will take place starting in last June. You can find out more about the academy through Grand Valley’s web site.
