THOMAS (WKZO) -- Hemlock Semiconductor is cutting one-hundred jobs in mid-Michigan and another 300 in Tennessee. The high-tech company says trade issues between the U.S., China and Europe are leading to the job losses.
The company's Saginaw County facility was upgraded and expanded five years ago, with a promise to have over 1,700 employees by 2012. Now, there are nine-hundred people working at the site in Thomas Township.
