HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The search continues for two persons with ties to Holland that have been missing for nearly a month.
Fred Byrne and Emelene VanDyke were last seen two days apart, as the Big Rapids lawyer disappeared after dropping off his son at Hope College on February 12th, and VanDyke was spotted by a neighbor of her College Avenue home, along with being seen on surveillance video taking money out of a bank ATM on Valentine’s Day.
Byrne’s abandoned vehicle was spotted a couple of days after his disappearance in a national forest south of St. Louis, Missouri, and according to mother-in-law Marie Hamilton, it’s the best and only lead investigators have on finding him right now. In an appearance on "WHTC in the Morning" on Wednesday, she told host Red Kingman that she agrees with detectives who say that there is no connection between the two disappearances, and that she and other family members are trying to stay strong as the uncertainty to Byrne’s whereabouts continues.
Anyone with any information on either Byrne’s or VanDyke’s disappearance is asked to contact Holland Public Safety or Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT; http://mosotips.com).
