LANSING, MI (WHTC) - Robert Lynch, one of six people convicted in the 1979 murder of Hope College coed Janet Chandler, had an appeal of his second-degree guilty plea rejected by the state Supreme Court on Monday. The now-73-year-old guard had admitted that he was the one who held the belt that strangled the 23-year-old woman during a party at a North Side home. Lynch and five others are all serving life prison sentences.
