HARRISON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO) - An airman at Selfridge Air National Guard base was the cause of school cancellations in Harrison Township Tuesday morning.

The man was seen going into L'Anse Creuse High School shortly before 7:00 a.m. dressed in camouflage and wearing a vest.  He apparently was looking for a counselor to pick up a letter of recommendation but left when he couldn't find the school official.

A janitor notified school administration and authorities were called in. The incident caused classes to be cancelled at the high school, a middle school and an elementary school nearby.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham says the airman was cooperative and released without being charged.
