Boys' March Magic Begins Tonight; Sunday of Losers as Tigers, Wings, Spartans, Pistons all Fall


UNDATED (WHTC) - The state high school boys’ basketball tournament begins this evening. On 1450 WHTC and http://whtc.com/listen-live at 6:40 PM, hear the Zeeland East at Holland game, while on 92.7 The Van and http://927thevan.com/listen-live at 5:40 PM, catch the Zeeland West versus Allendale contest from Hamilton High. Other opening night match ups include West Ottawa at Hudsonville, Saugatuck at Muskegon Western Michigan Christian, and Black River hosting North Muskegon.


Exhibition baseball yesterday saw the Tigers lose to Atlanta, 6-1; the Cubs split their squad and split their results, beating the LA Angels, 4-2, but losing to Milwaukee, 4-3; and the White Sox fell to San Diego, 4-0. Today, the Tigers versus Houston game airs on 1450 WHTC at 1 PM, the Cubs face Cleveland, and the White Sox battle San Francisco.


Patrick Kane scored in the third period to eventually force a shootout, and then tallied the lone marker in that extra stanza, as the visiting Blackhawks nicked the Red Wings, 2-1.
