HOLLAND (WHTC) - On the final night of boys’ high school basketball regular season play before next week’s district tournaments…Holland Christian won its seventh straight, defeating Walker Covenant Christian 57-49. Muskegon Reeths-Puffer surprised Holland 51-48, Grand Rapids Catholic Center downed West Ottawa 42-34, Kelloggsville got by Hamilton 73-69, Saugatuck was a winner over Decatur 59-52, Fennville rolled by Bridgman 69-57, Black River romped past Watervliet 63-36, and Calvary dumped Wellspring Prep 70-59.
Two high school girls’ basketball district championships will be decided tonight. In Class B at Unity Christian in Hudsonville, sixth-ranked Hamilton will battle Holland Christian. The Hawkeyes won the first meeting in overtime at the Civic Center and had to overcome an early 11-0 deficit to win the second meeting by two. In Class C, Saugatuck hosts Muskegon West Michigan Christian for a chance to go on to regionals.
