HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Holland BPW officials announced yesterday that electric customers of the municipal utility will have the option, beginning on Monday, for choosing to have some or all of their power generated by renewable sources. It would lead to a rate increase of one and a half cents per kilowatt hour for those customers due to the higher costs of producing this alternative energy. Nearly five percent of the BPW’s electricity is from renewables.
