HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The community is invited to the official opening of Ottawa County’s newest park, Macatawa Greenspace.  While the park will have many amenities, including an 18-hole disc golf course, there is another reason for it besides recreation.  The Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Communication Manager, Shannon Felgner says the Macatawa Greenspace was designed for a greater purpose in mind: to improve the water quality of Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan.  Much of the park has been restored to it's natural habitat of wetlands and flood plain forests.  Visitors will enjoy the bridges, boardwalks and observation decks along the Macatawa River.  The grand opening takes place this Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m.  The park is located at 1230 Paw Paw Dr in Holland, near the American Legion.
