COVERT, MI (WHTC) - US Congressman Fred Upton toured the Palisades nuclear power plant near Covert yesterday. The Republican from St. Joseph, chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, wanted to see repairs done to leaking problems that forced the plant to a 43-day shutdown, the sixth in less than 18 months. Upton has pledged continued support to increased Nuclear Regulatory Commission oversight of the facility.
