HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Gas prices have plummeted more sharply that it has spiked along the Lakeshore and across the state. The refinery-related hike at the pump is now a distant memory, as this morning’s weekly survey of Holland area stations showed a per-gallon average of $3.75, as costs of $3.84 in Fennville are offset by a $3.65 mean in Hudsonville. This mark is 24 cents less than last Friday and 53 cents from the record high of $4.28 of two weeks ago, but it’s still 18 cents above what motorists were paying at this time last year. Triple-A’s daily canvassing had levels of $3.59 nationally and $3.76 statewide, with the Michigan numbers down 32 cents in a week’s time and 49 cents over a 14-day span.
