HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Gas prices along the Lakeshore have fallen back from record highs. This morning’s survey of Holland area stations showed a per-gallon average of $3.99, a drop of 29 cents from last Friday’s peak of $4.28, but still 20 cents above what was seen a year ago. The range of rates was wide, from as low as $3.89 in Hudsonville to a high of $4.14 in Saugatuck. Triple-A’s current marks are $3.63 nationally and $4.08 statewide. Oil industry observers say that refinery issues in Illinois that caused the regional spike are easing.
