ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) - With Dave Lutz ending his lengthy tour of service as a Zeeland school board member last month due to moving out of the district, the panel held a special meeting yesterday to start filling the void he left behind. A total of nine people submitted applications to complete the final 18 months of Lutz’ term, and they will all be interviewed on June 26th, with the appointment of a top candidate made “soon after.” The hopefuls include Todd Brennan, Elliott Church, Chad Creevy, Lucas Inman, Clayton Maas, Jay Riemersma, Marla Rotman, Stephen Steggerda and Michael Verkaik. In addition, the board named Ron Scott to replace Lutz as its vice president, its chair of the personnel committee, and be part of the agenda planning committee; Scott has been a board member since 2005.
