PORT SHELDON TWP., MI (WHTC) - Massive equipment as part of a 530 million-dollar upgrade of Consumers Energy’s JH Campbell Plant off of Lake Michigan in Port Sheldon Township began arriving by barge yesterday. The Jackson-based utility plans on installing 24 bag house units of 24 by 24 by 80 feet in order to filter out particulates from the facility’s giant coal-fired burners. It’s to meet federal compliance standards set to take effect in 2016.
