HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Two long-standing Holland traditions could face changes after tonight’s City Council meeting is over. One is a ban on overnight street parking, which continues to divide the panel, as some say that the prohibition should end due to increased vehicle volume and more property owners parking cars and trucks in yards, while others argue to keep the restriction due to safety and street maintenance issues. The other matter involves the public lodging license for the Wooden Shoe Motel, with City Manager Ryan Cotton urging revocation due to numerous code violations and law enforcement issues, while the owner wants more time to address the problems. Tonight’s meeting begins in chambers at 7 PM.
