UNDATED (WHTC) -- Michigan veterans who are homeless or trying to get by on low-income will be getting employment assistance from Volunteers of America Michigan. Through a $1.7 million dollar Supportive Services for Veteran Families grant, 250 families in a 12-county area that includes Ottawa, Allegan and Kent counties, will get some much needed help. The program will be used to re-house or prevent homelessness, increase housing stability and enhance independent living skills. The program will serve all homeless veterans but wil put a special emphasis on female veterans and veterans with families. For more information, call 877-509-8387.
