ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) - Sales and revenues were up at Gentex over the past three months. Officials of the Zeeland-based specialty parts maker told investors and shareholders this morning that net sales rose 2.4 percent in the second quarter of 2013 from the same time frame a year ago to 287 million dollars, while the gross profit margin was up 2.7 percent to 35.8 percent, and net income was 28 percent better at 52.1 million dollars. Gentex Chairman and CEO Fred Bauer was pleased with the bottom line numbers, "with continuing positive efficiencies within our operating expenses."
