GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - A three-week search for a 47-year-old paramedic from Walker who had been missing since diving off of a pleasure boat in the waters of Lake Michigan near Grand Haven ended on Saturday. A Muskegon County Sheriff's Deputy spotted the body of John English while conducting a routine check of the beach at the Hoffmaster State Park in Norton Shores; a subsequent examination by the Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the identity. An intensive search for English had been done for the first three days after his disappearance in about 45 feet of choppy water before it was scaled back. Friends and relatives held a memorial service at a Catholic Church in Grand Rapids later that week.
