ALLENDALE, MI (WHTC) - During yesterday’s meeting, the Grand Valley State Board of Trustees approved a 376-dollar tuition increase, raising the annual rate for attending classes at the Allendale-based school to 10-thousand-454 dollars. This hike is 14 dollars more than last year, and officials say that it would put the Lakers 10th among Michigan’s 15 public universities in its tuition rate. This move is also in keeping with the Legislature’s mandate of no higher than a 3.75 percent increase without rising cuts in state funding, and was part of the Trustees’ approval of a nearly 299 million-dollar budget for the 2014 academic year that began on July 1st.
