ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) - Another aspect of a meth lab case literally at the doorstep of the Wayland Police Headquarters will be closed today. Polly Gates will be sentenced by Allegan County Circuit Court Judge Kevin Cronin on various charges. Prosecutors claim that the 28-year-old Otsego woman, along with 36-year-old Sherry Cunningham and 35-year-old attorney Patrick Burson, operated meth labs at his Wayland office, a few doors down from the police station, and at an Otsego residence. The operations were broken up 13 months ago. Burson’s case was transferred to Battle Creek because of his past legal work in Allegan County; he was sentenced this week to 90 days in jail, two years of probation, and 100 hours of community service, with the state Bar Association to consider disciplinary action concerning his law license.
