HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The current gas price spike along the Lakeshore continued yesterday, as stations raised their rates from under $3.70 to a near uniform $3.85 per gallon in the weekly polling of Holland area retailers taken this morning. It’s 29 cents higher than last Friday, and mirrors similar increases nationwide, as crude oil futures are affected by ongoing unrest in Egypt that has speculators fearful of supply route safety through the Suez Canal. Triple-A's daily canvassing had marks of $3.55 in the US and $3.76 statewide, increases of seven and 29 cents, respectively, over a seven-day span.
