BLOOMINGDALE, MI (WHTC) - There’s a text messaging scandal crossing the Allegan-Van Buren county line involving a Bloomingdale High School student and a Cardinals coach. Authorities were alerted to the situation last month when the parents of an unnamed 14-year-old girl saw texts on her phone that was described only as “of a sexual nature.” An investigation led them to 23-year-old Adrian Ledesma, the boys’ junior varsity basketball mentor, and his 24-year-old cousin Jaime Ledesma II. Both of them were arraigned yesterday in Allegan District Court on various degrees of criminal sexual conduct charges. Prosecutors haven’t disclosed many other details of the case, other than to say that none of the incidents took place on the high school campus or on any other school district property. The district has not officially commented on the matter.
