UNDATED (WHTC) - Victor Martinez’ two-run double in the 10th inning enabled the Tigers to win at Cleveland last night, 4-2. Meanwhile in Chicago, Matt Garza scattered five hits with six strikeouts over seven innings, as the Cubs beat the White Sox, 8-2. This evening, the White Sox play the Tigers at Comerica Park, with broadcast time on 1450 WHTC at 6:40 PM, while the Cubs stay in Chicago to host the LA Angels.

The rain that hit Cleveland for the Tigers’ game also struck nearby Eastlake, where the Whitecaps’ contest against host Lake County was suspended in the bottom of the first inning, with West Michigan holding a 1-0 lead. That game will resume at Fifth Third Ballpark when the Captains come calling on August 24th. The Whitecaps return home this evening to open a three-game series versus Clinton.
