UNDATED (WHTC) - Justin Verlander allowed three hits with five strikeouts over seven innings, while Austin Jackson homered and drove in three runs, as the Tigers won in Toronto last night, 11-1. Detroit opens a three-game series in Cleveland this evening. Coverage on 1450 WHTC begins at 6:40 PM.

Dan Straily gave up just one hit with six strikeouts in seven innings, and the Athletics scored the only run of the game on a Wellington Castillo passed ball in the seventh, as Oakland edged the visiting Cubs yesterday, 1-0. Chicago hosts Pittsburgh to begin a three-game series at Wrigley Field this afternoon.

Adam Dunn drove in two runs, including the tie-breaking solo homer in the eighth inning, to give the White Sox a 3-2 victory over visiting Baltimore yesterday. Chicago is in Tampa Bay to start a three-game series this evening.

Geoff Brown gave up six hits with five strikeouts in five innings, but his spot-start was enough for visiting Great Lakes to hand the Whitecaps their seventh loss in eight games with last night’s 7-5 triumph. The series at Fifth Third Ballpark concludes this evening.
