UNDATED (WHTC) - Two separate fires kept crews at opposite ends of Ottawa County busy yesterday. The first was during the pre-dawn hours in the area of Division Avenue and Hayes Street on Holland’s North Side, where an apparently overloaded electrical outlet shorted out, gutting the garage and causing smoke damage throughout a ranch-style house. A couple inside escaped safely. Crews from three departments were dispatched to a blaze north of Hudsonville last night, where another fire in an attached garage spread to engulf an Olde Farm Drive dwelling whose residents were apparently not home. No firefighters were injured in either incident.
