GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - A brother and a sister, perhaps on the way back from the Electric Forest concert series in Rothbury, apparently triggered a four-vehicle pileup south of Grand Haven last evening. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Brian Buter, 21-year-old Chase Hannush of Lafayette, Indiana admitted nodding off while driving his SUV southbound on US-31, approaching Ferris Street. His vehicle rear-ended one vehicle, careened into another, and then caromed into a third.
Hannush and the other three drivers were not hurt, but his 28-year-old sister Lessa Ledbetter of Tucson, Arizona suffered minor injuries that required treatment at North Ottawa Community Hospital. Buter added that alcohol didn’t appear to be a factor in the crash, but that Hannush was ticketed for careless driving.
