Tigers Trampled by Toronto; Caps Fall Too

TORONTO (WHTC) -- The Tigers are in a slump, losing six out of their last seven games, losing to Toronto on Monday, 8-3.  Prince Fielder and Omar Infante hit solo homers for the Tigers in the loss. Infante went 4 for 4 with a two-out homer in the ninth.  Miguel Cabrera, who came in with an AL-leading .373 batting average, went 0 for 4 with two strikeouts.  Jose Alvarez lost his second straight start, giving up four earned runs in a career-low three innings. He walked three and struck out four.  The Tigers will try to turn things around on Tuesday night with another gamed against Toronto.  Coverage on 1450 WHTC gets started at 6:40 P.M.

COMSTOCK PARK, MI (WHTC) - Taylor Guerrieri gave up six hits with three strikeouts over six innings, as visiting Bowling Green completed a three-game sweep of the Whitecaps on Monday, 6-1. West Michigan starts a brief, two-game series in Midland versus Great Lakes on Tuesday evening.
