HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - After 48 hours or so, the mid-winter thaw along the Lakeshore is slated to end today, as temperatures will plummet from the 60’s yesterday to the low 20’s by tomorrow. Heavy rains and melting snow have led to a flood warning for Allegan and Ottawa counties through 9:30 tonight, and a Lake Effect Snow Watch for as much as a foot of snow through Friday afternoon goes into effect this evening. Some roads have been “washed out” by flooding, including Ottagan Street, which was under about eight inches of water between 44th Street and 80th Avenue in Overisel Township overnight, while motorists are challenged by ponding and standing water on other routes along the Lakeshore. Allegan County Road Commission staffers reopened Ottagan Street late this morning.
