SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC) - The Saugatuck City Council is considering whether to participate in a study that aims to determine the impact of consolidation with Douglas into a single municipal government. If approved by Saugatuck tonight and by Douglas next Monday, the two cities will share in the 10 thousand-dollar expense. Opponents and proponents of a merger have until February 18 to submit petition signatures to put the issue on the ballot.
