LANSING, MI (WHTC) - Generic drug maker Perrigo was awarded Michigan Economic Growth Authority tax credits yesterday to help offset 242 million dollars in planned infrastructure work and new equipment at its Allegan headquarters, along with expansion and new equipment as part of upgrading the JB Laboratories plant on Holland’s North Side that was purchased five years ago. Company officials say that the two projects will create 650 new jobs. In addition, Fair Oaks Farms Brands is getting a 900 thousand-dollar Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant to help in a planned 127 million-dollar plant in Coopersville, creating 133 jobs. Both companies are also getting local property tax abatements as part of the financial incentives to build up along the Lakeshore.
